Bruce Mau explains that design is in fact much more about leadership—it’s the “ability to envision a future and then systematically execute it.” Good design is invisible—you aren’t aware of the parts that make it work but when the design fails it suddenly becomes much more important.
When we don’t understand the complexity of the systems we create then we will also fail to be aware of the implications of designing it that way. Design thinking allows new people to think about the problems and design a new future.
